Introduction
Nanami  is appeared in suikoden 2, suikogaiden 1, suikogaiden 2. Nanami is a sister of Riou (hero of suikoden 2) and she has a close friend, he's name is Jowy Atreides. She is tomboyis natural and her bad cooking.

The Early Days

An orphan adopted by Genkaku, Nanami is Riou's step-brother and as such, was overly protective of him since childhood. She was trained by Genkaku in the use of the three-piece-rod and grew to become a formidable martial artist under his training.

Separation and Reunion

After Genkaku's death, Nanami attempted to re-establish his dojo to earn money but the plan fell through, causing Riou to join the Highland Army instead. Following the massacre of the Unicorn Brigade, Riou returned to Kyaro where the two decided to flee Highland before being accused of playing a part in the attack. However, the two were captured along with their friend Jowy Atreides and were sentenced to death. Luckily, Viktor and Flik rescued the trio and they fled to Jowston eventually helping Muse in their struggles against Highland. She grows fond of Pilika and becomes something of a surrogate mother to the young girl. However, she was extremely torn over Jowy's betrayal and defection back to Highland.

A Change of Heart

As her brother's role in the ongoing conflict grew more and more important, eventually peaking with his appointment as leader of the Allied Army, Nanami began to overly worry for his safety, wondering why he had to be thrust into such a prominent, and dangerous, position. Several times during the Dunan Unification War, Nanami attempted to persuade Riou to step down as leader, listing all of the other capable officers that could lead in his place. Eventually, however, she accepted Riou's choice even if she was still secretly heart-broken over the fact that Riou and Jowy now fought as leaders of opposing sides.
During the Allied Army's siege on Rockaxe towards the conclusion of the war, Nanami was seriously wounded by an arrow fired by Gorudo's White Knights. She was rushed back to North Window Castle where she was pronounced dead by Doctor Huan. However, this was a ploy to allow Nanami to get away from the war, not wanting to watch her brother or her friend suffer from fighting each other. She secretly returned to Kyaro for the duration of the war.

A Happy Ending

Following the end of the war, Riou and Jowy returned to Kyaro to meet with Nanami after Shu revealed the truth. The three then set off on a journey to see the world, free from the curse of the Bright Shield and Black Sword Runes.
