After seeing the true nature of the Scarlet Moon Empire he decided he would join the Liberatin army led by Odessa Silverberg. However she was killed in a raid and leadership passed to McDohl. Soon the Scarlet Moon Empire was on the rope and Tir finished it and founded a new nation the Toran Republic. Tir Mcdohl is appeared in suikoden 1 and suikoden 2
Early Life
Tir McDohl, son of one of the Six Great Generals, Teo McDohl, was the person responsible for the fall of the Scarlet Moon Empire. As his mother died while he was young and his father was often away on military campaigns, the upbringing of Tir was mostly left to Teo's aides. In particular, Gremio a talented chef and soldier, came to view Tir almost as a son. During the Succession War in 446, a young Tir was kidnapped by the forces of Geil Rugner in order to force Teo's Armoured Cavalry to fight without their famed heavy armour which made the legion so formidable. Luckily for the forces of Barbarossa Rugner, Tir was rescued by both Gremio and a young Gregminster urchin by the name of Age, allowing Teo to fight unhindered, leading Barbarossa's forces to victory.
As a youth, Tir was trained in the use of the bo staff by Kai, who was a tough master, insisting on strict formality and respect at all times. Although Kai left the McDohl household one day purely on a whim, never to return, Tir never lost his unrelenting respected for Kai, addressing him as 'Master' even when commander of the Liberation Army.As a Member of the Imperial Guard
Entering the Imperial Guard in 455, Tir and his companions became more aware of the corruption and deceit beginning to poison the Empire. Eventually, events led them to Mt. Seifu, and into a battle with a Queen Ant. In a last ditch effort to save the lives of his friends, Ted used the Soul Eater rune and obliterated the monster. Kanaan, an Imperial officer assigned to oversee the mission at Mt. Seifu, reported the incident to the Court Magician, Windy. When Ted was asked to go to the palace alone to make a report, Windy attacked him, demanding he surrender the rune to her. Refusing, he activated the rune and made his escape.Badly wounded, Ted passed the rune onto Tir in hopes that he could slip through Windy’s clutches. As the palace guards break through the front door, alerted to Ted's location by the betrayal of Pahn, Ted acted as a decoy, allowing Tir, Gremio, and Cleo to make their escape. Upon finding shelter, Tir and his companions met Viktor, who later took them to Lenankamp, just south of Gregminster. Now hot on the young boy’s trail, the Imperial Guard followed Tir to the Lenankamp Inn, demanding his surrender. Again, having to escape, Tir stumbled upon the hidden camp of the Liberation Army beneath the inn. Shortly after, Tir found himself on the way to Sarady by request of the Liberation leader, Odessa Silverberg, to send blueprints for the infamous Fire Spears.
On the way back from the assignment, the party found that the headquarters has been attacked. Rushing to the aide of those that stayed behind, Odessa suffered a mortal wound, and died. Within her final breath however, she bestowed command of the Liberation Army to Tir. Needing a new plan of action, the Liberation Army regrouped at the Toran Lake Fortress with Tir McDohl as their leader and counter-attacked against the Imperial Army, starting what was known as the Toran Liberation War.
As Leader of the Toran Liberation Army
With Mathiu Silverberg as their strategist and Tir growing to become an accomplished leader, the Liberation Army systematically attacked each of the Six Generals, including Tir’s father, Teo McDohl. In a stand off between father and son, Tir emerged victorious, but at the cost of his father’s life. With a greater resolve forged by the losses of loved ones throughout the war such as Ted, who died in a fateful encounter at Seek Valley, Gremio, who was devoured by man-eating spores in Soniere Prison, and his father, Tir led an attack on Shasarazade, burning it to the ground.Following the gathering of all 108 Stars of Destiny, Leknaat managed to use combine the power of the stars with her own half of the Gate Rune to restore Gremio to life. With victory in the grasp of the liberation movement, the army marched on to Gregminster, and Tir faced off with Emperor Barbarossa, finally putting an end to the Scarlet Moon Empire.
Following the fall of the Scarlet Moon Empire, Tir was chosen as the rightful leader for the Toran Republic, but he declined the throne and left the nation along with Gremio.
Involvement in the Dunan Unification War
The two eventually found themselves in Banner Village during the Dunan Unification War in 460 where they encountered Riou, leader of the Allied Army. The two joined forces in order to save a local boy, Ko, from a group of bandits as well as a giant moth after the child had ventured into the Banner Pass. After rescuing the boy and bringing him to Gregminster for treatment, Tir and Gremio returned to their home in the capital for a time, meeting with old friends as well as agreeing to aid Riou whenever they could.Following the Dunan Unification War and the formation of the Dunan Republic, it is assumed that Tir, along with Gremio, continued their journey.
