Introduction
Flik  is a central character in both Suikoden I and Suikoden II, as well as appearing in Suikogaiden Volume 1. A wandering swordsman and mercenary with a slightly serious and practical personality, Flik currently travels with fellow traveler and friend, Viktor. Flik is known for his easily recognisable blue outfit, and his possession of a Lightning Rune, as his nicknames indicate
.

Biography

Born and raised in Warriors' Village, Flik showed exceptional talent in both magic and sword-fighting and yet left the village on his 'Trial of Manhood' without even naming his sword. After being a mercenary for years, he met Odessa Silverberg whom he fell in love with after saving her from Imperial soldiers. Enraptured, he joined her cause, becoming one of the earliest members of the Toran Liberation Army.
He managed to escape the destruction of the Liberation Army headquarters at Lenankamp and gathered the remnants of the rebel forces. However, at first he refused to join with the new Liberation Army at Toran Castle led by Tir McDohl, whom he mistrusted. He also was angry at Viktor, whom he held responsible for Odessa's death. Eventually, Flik calmed himself and, realizing Odessa's death was not the fault of Viktor or Tir, allied with the new army. However, his hotheadedness led to a dismal defeat at Scarleticia Castle.
During the war, Flik matured and formed a bond with Viktor, as they remained in the crumbling Gregminster Palace in order to fend off Imperial troops aiming for Tir McDohl. The two were believed to have perished but, in fact, Flik and Viktor had escaped to Jowston, earning their keep by protecting eastern Muse with their mercenary army.
After the beginning of the Dunan Unification War, Flik, along with the rest of the forces were forced to abandon the Mercenary Fortress and travel first to Muse and then to South Window, where the Allied Army was formed. During the war, Flik proved his worth as an officer again and again, displaying a new level of strategic intelligence to rival his swordsmanship. Flik's skills and looks also attracted him an admirer, Nina; however, Flik often found her to be irritating and often hid from Nina.
After the war, Flik left the region on a journey with Viktor, participating in the Higheast Rebellion amongst other conflicts along the way.
