Introduction
Yuber is a supporting antagonist in Suikoden I, Suikoden II and Suikoden III. The nemesis of Pesmerga, Yuber is an enigmatic being of great strength and mysterious powers. The nature of his existence is unknown although it is known that he is the current bearer of the Eightfold Rune.

Biography

Known as the "Black Knight", Yuber is a mysterious figure about whom nearly nothing is known. Aside from the fact that he bears a True Rune, the Hachifusa (or Eightfold) Rune, and that he has powers far beyond that of a human, very little information has ever been acquired about his origin and legacy. Obsessed with causing and spreading chaos, Yuber often appears in the middle of large conflicts, drawn by the flames of war and the blood it spills. He is constantly being hunted by Pesmerga, who, much like Yuber himself, is a complete enigma.

Suikoden I

Yuber was known to be a subordinate of Windy, along with Neclord, for centuries, helping her track down True Runes and engaging in slaughter and destruction. In fact, when Tir McDohl, Cleo and Viktor encountered Yuber in the past, thanks to the Star Dragon Sword, his power was so impressive that the group made no move to defend themselves against him, only being saved by Windy's call for his presence. During the Toran Liberation War (455-457), Yuber was appointed a general in the Scarlet Moon military, eventually becoming the grand commander of the Imperial Army for the defense of Gregminster near the war's end.
Following his defeat, Yuber decided to flee the Empire, realizing that with the defeat of the Imperial Army, stability, which he loathed, was soon to be restored to the region. However, before he could escape, he was confronted by Pesmerga and the two clashed in battle. Yuber fled the scene shortly into the battle, disappearing for the next three years.

Suikoden II

During the Dunan Unification War, he was summoned, through some unknown method, by Leon Silverberg and was appointed general within the Highland Army, eventually being charged with the defense of Greenhill. There he encountered Riou, where it was revealed that he held a great hatred, more than usual, for the Bright Shield Rune, the reason yet unknown. Yuber retreated from Greenhill, leaving it to be liberated, following the defeat of the Bone Dragon he had summoned to defeat Riou and his party. His ability to draw monsters out from what appears to be the World of Emptiness, led many to speculate that Yuber himself came from that dimension.
As the war drew to a close with the Allied Army marching on to L'Renouille, Yuber took to the field with his company but soon teleported away from the battlefield, again realizing that the war was coming to a close and having no further desire to fight for the Highland Kingdom.
